Here are the three important tests to check out if the black pepper you are using to spice up your meal is pure or adulterated:  Number One- Spread some black pepper seeds on a table or kitchen platform and press one after another seed with the barehand, if the seed crackles or crushes easily then they are not black pepper seeds and maybe Papaya Seeds — if the seeds are hard to crack or crush they are of genuine quality; Number Two- Take a glass filled with water and add some black pepper seeds to it, if seeds float in the water- they are Papaya seeds——if they settle down in the water, they are of genuine quality; Number Three- Spread some black pepper seeds on a white paper and have a look through a magnifying glass- if they appear brown and have a wrinkled surface, they are of genuine quality — if they appear of shrinking oval shape and have a smooth surface with greenish-brown or blackish-brown colour, the seeds are Papaya seeds.
